My Cat Mitzi by Suzan L. Wiener

My Cat Mitzi

by Suzan L. Wiener

A cat was waiting for me,

her fur was matted and wet.

She looked up so forlornly,

to say, "Let me be your pet."

My heart soon went out to her,

she seemed so alone and sad.

I brought her in, gave her milk,

yet she only took a tad.

I nursed her right back to health,

now she is my best friend.

Her true love and warmth is mine,

over and over again.

We had helped each other,

and she hasn't ever roamed.

My pet cat, Mitzi,

knew when she was home.

Very sweet poem! I wish my cat had true love for me... instead she's behind me on this chair, attempting to gnaw on my hand... *sigh*
